In projects "adult connections" are opportunities for students to explore community resources and work with practitioners in the field. These contacts provide:

• Validation that academic material and technical skill development are relevant to the world outside of the classroom and that student work meets real- world expectations and standards.
• Input and content support by acting as speakers and business liaisons.
• Assistance integrating concepts into the project topic and work.
• Direct interaction with students as mentors and advisors.

In the Quilt Project, see how students in the Textile Arts class at Jackson Hole High School in Jackson, Wyoming collaborated with a variety of adults in the community as part of a district-wide project to help district K-12 teachers use quilts as a medium for exploring themes in their curriculum.
